Welcome to Caspers Fish And Chip Shop, a charming takeaway located in the heart of Hoyland, Barnsley. This delightful eatery specializes in serving up the quintessential British comfort food: fish and chips!
The moment you approach Caspers, the inviting aroma of crispy batter and freshly caught fish wafts through the air, promising a treat for your taste buds. The cozy ambiance and the friendly chatter create a lively atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home. It's not just about the food here; it's about the experience, too!
Caspers prides itself on offering deliciously cooked fish, with customer 'Jameson Cuthbertian' exclaiming that the fish is so juicy it’s an “exhilarating” experience. Whether you opt for their golden battered cod or the classic fish cake, each bite is reminiscent of seaside days filled with laughter and joy. Don’t forget to pair your meal with their delightful curry sauce, as highlighted by 'sue hall,' who raves about her cod and chips with scraps that was “out of this world.”
That said, visiting Caspers does come with a caveat. There have been mentions from some patrons about unexpected closures, particularly during bank holidays and certain weekdays, like ‘KR’ who recounted a disappointing visit on a Wednesday afternoon but was thrilled with his meal the previous Saturday. For the most reliable experience, it’s a good idea to ring ahead and confirm their hours.
Despite this minor hiccup, the overwhelming sentiment is that Caspers delivers a unforgettable value to its customers, making them return time and again for their delectable fish and chips. This spot is not just a takeaway; it’s a local treasure that accurately captures the essence of a British chippy experience.
Next time you're in Barnsley looking for a comforting meal, make your way to Caspers Fish And Chip Shop. Be sure to check their opening hours to fully indulge in one of the best fish and chips experiences in the area!

Calling all Kes fans, do ring them before your visit and make sure they are open. I went there on a normal Friday but they were closed with the sign saying “closed for bank holiday”. Still it was a magical experience to see one of Kes filming locations.

I'm not one to normally post a review yet came across them as I was checking opening times. I was shocked to read some bad reviews on here as I have never had a bad meal from here. I've just finished my cod and chips with scraps and curry sauce and it was out of this world
